Using ingredients that are both effective and safe is also a top priority for us. We\u2019re continuing to be a leading voice in the consumer packaged goods industry through initiatives in product safety, ingredient transparency, and fragrances, preservatives and other ingredients.<\/p>\n<p>Clorox is committed to providing products that meet the safety and wellness needs and demands of today\u2019s consumers. To this end, our <a href=\"\/company\/ignite-strategy\/\">IGNITE strategy<\/a> includes ambitious sustainability goals to advance our progress in this area. These goals call for us to demonstrate leadership in responsible product stewardship with a focus on progressive actions to enhance the practices of our company and the consumer packaged goods industry overall.<\/p>\n<p>Our product stewardship goals are:<\/p>\n<p>Product Advocacy<\/p>\n<ul class=\"bullet\">\n<li>Collaborate with key stakeholders to advance the science behind alternative approaches to animal testing. Our vision for our industry is to eliminate such testing requirements currently required by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for disinfecting products and replace these tests with non-animal alternatives<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Ingredient Management<\/p>\n<ul class=\"bullet\">\n<li>Reduce cleaning products chemical footprint; annually report program progress beginning in calendar year 2020.<\/li>\n<li>Publicly share Clorox restricted substances list for domestic retail cleaning products in calendar year 2020.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Transparency Commitments<\/p>\n<ul class=\"bullet\">\n<li>Increase the reach of the SmartLabel product information tool and expand our scope of consumer-meaningful information.<\/li>\n<li>Aggressively increase our third-party product certifications by 2025.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Our product stewardship work \u2013 including IGNITE product stewardship goals and ongoing focus on product safety \u2013 is led by our vice president of global stewardship with executive oversight by our senior vice president and chief R&amp;D officer.
